12,200 Invitations For 189 Sent In Aug Round

Official result of the Aug round for 189 and 491 (FS) has been released with an unprecendent number of invitations for 1 round. 12,200 invitations were sent on that day for subclass 189.

Candidates in the Health sectors, both onshore and offshore, such as nurse, social workers, were the most favourable since everyone with the minimum points were invited (65 points with Date of effect Aug 2022).

It appears the same for Trade sectors, but only for offshore candidates.

The most striking was that "Tennis Coach" was also invited at the minimum point of 65 for offshore candidates.

Would this trend repeat in the next round of invitation for subclass 189 and 491 (FS) ?

To be honest, we have never seen such a ridiculous way of sending invitations by the Department of Home Affairs. It is unpredictable for the next round. It could happen again if the government wants to attract more offshore candidates. But it would be too unfair for those who have been residing in Australia during the tough time in the last 2 years.

We congratulate those who received invitations in the never-happen-before round. However, their success is not mere luck. What makes them the winners is that they always maintain themselves in the best ready position. There were many other who deeply regret because they left their skills assessment expires or not yet to have it done because they think their total points are not competitive enough and it is a waste of money for doing skills assessment, hence missing the once-in-a-life-time chance.

One key takeaway point is that the migration programs (all type of visas) are changing really fast with new requirements being introduced unforeseenably. However, in general, the difficulty of the migration program is either become really hard or become very easy at some points. You can imagine its trend like a Sin (Sine) graph. It will go up to the most difficult point and will go down to the very easy point. If you always maintain yourself at the ready position such as having Skills Assessment, English requirements, and other, you will grab the chance when it is time. If you don't, once the chance comes, it doesn't wait a few months for you to complete the skills assessment or to sit for the English test.
