In Nov 2021, we have delivered the great news that recent graduates can apply for 485 graduate work stream without the needs of provisional skill assessment in the future.
It is offical that the new type of 485 visa will commence from 01 July 2022.
In particular, the government has removed the requirement to nominate an occupation on the Medium and Long-term List when applying for subclass 485 graduate work stream. This means the students who have recently completed a 2-year course(s) at Vocational level (nearly any course) will be allowed to lodge the 485 visa. Other requirements remain the same. For instances, students who graduate from Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Business (a 2-year package course), from 01 July 2022, may apply for 485 visa - graduate work stream.
The following are the specific requirements for the new type of 485 visa
The application for subclass 485 - graduate work stream is made from 01 July 2022 to 30 June 2023. (This concession period may be extended in the future by the government).
The applicant meets the Australian Study Requirement in the previous 6 months.
The applicant does not need to nominate any occupations, and therefore, there is no requirement that the courses of study must relate to the nominated occupation as before.
